Following the injury that Mark Ellis picked up in our game against Blackpool, it has now been revealed that he will be missing for around four to five weeks.

The 25 year old summer signing had figured in both of our games so far this season, but having picked up the injury in the Capital One Cup game, and obviously missing the Tranmere Rovers match, a scan has now revealed the full extent of the problem, although it doesn’t appear he will need an operation which is a bonus.

Speaking to the Official Site manager Micky Mellon explained.

‘He’s gone to see a specialist but at the minute, touching wood, we don’t think he needs an operation. He’s getting better every day, but we’re still expecting it to be four or five weeks before we see Mark again, which is hugely disappointing for him because he’s been fantastic since he’s been here.’

Whilst it’s obviously disappointing, Mellon says he’ll get all the care he needs to recover and then looking at it the other way, he’s be a massive bonus to the team when he does get back fit.

Our other long term injury David McAllister is now joining in with training, in terms of doing bits and pieces, and it’s hoped that he’ll return properly to the group on Thursday.
