Manager Micky Mellon has given his thoughts following Shrewsbury Town’s draw with Port Vale earlier today.

Hosting Rob Page’s Valiants at the Greenhous Meadow for the game, the hosts took the lead in the second period to break the deadlock but on loan Crystal Palace winger Sullay Kaikai struck the all important leveller in the 73rd minute, and despite seeing Nathaniel Knight-Percival sent off for a straight red – Shrewsbury saw the game out to take a point in what was a fairly evenly balanced contest.

Speaking to the media in his post game press interviews, Mellon knew he had to be pretty happy with a point as with the chances created by both sides on the day, the game could’ve gone either way.
