Shrewsbury Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Sullay Kaikai in the two all draw with Bury at the weekend at Gigg Lane was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Kaikai was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Kaikai netted twice for Shrewsbury as they earned another point towards Sky Bet League 1 survival. The on-loan Crystal Palace man’s goals helped secure a point away at Bury, which extended the club’s unbeaten run to eight games and leaves them eight points clear of the bottom four.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Kaikai for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course at least taking a point.

Full Team:

Jonathan Mitchell (Luton Town), Marcus Olsson (Derby County), Shane Duffy (Blackburn Rovers), Matt Preston (Walsall), Callum O’Dowda (Oxford United), Ollie Clarke (Bristol Rovers), Lee Tomlin (Bristol City), Chris Taylor (Millwall), Lucas Akins (Burton Albion), Ben Williamson (Cambridge United), Sullay Kaikai (Shrewsbury Town).

Manager – David Wagner (Huddersfield Town).
