Shrewsbury are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by goalkeeper Jason Leutwiler in the one nil victory over Doncaster Rovers at the weekend at the Keepmoat Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Leutwiler was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Leutwiler was in outstanding form as Shrewsbury moved further clear of the Sky Bet League 1 relegation zone, making a string of saves in the 1-0 win at fellow strugglers Doncaster Rovers. A last-gasp parry from a Cameron Stewart free-kick was the pick of the bunch, making it three clean sheets in eight days for the Swiss stopper.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Leutwiler for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the the win.

Full Team:

Jason Leutwiler (Shrewsbury Town), Ryan Dickson (Yeovil Town), Dean Lewington (MK Dons), Scott Cuthbert (Luton Town), John Passley (Dagenham and Redbridge), Harry Chapman (Barnsley), Lewis Hawkins (Hartlepool United), Gaston Ramirez (Middlesbrough), John-Joe O’Toole (Northampton Town), Callum Harriott (Charlton Athletic), Mirco Antenucci (Leeds United).

Manager – Gary Rowett (Birmingham City).
