Manager Micky Mellon has said that Shrewsbury will be well prepared for the upcoming game against Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s Burton Albion side this weekend.

With both sides gaining promotion from League Two last year, it was honour’s apiece in 2014-15 battles with one win for each side, and Mellon told the Official Site that we more than know how tricky a side they will be, so he will ensure we are prepared for them in the search of three points.

Burton sit in fifth place in the table having won three of their opening four league fixtures so far.

‘We were both promoted and both into a new challenge, Burton albeit have made probably a better start than us, wins wise. We are looking forward to locking horns with them again. We know each other very well and I believe I know the style they will come here and try to play.’

Mellon goes on to say we’ll be ‘well prepared’ for the game, and he will pick the best team possible to combat them and hopefully come away with all three points, but obviously we have to be on our game and not ‘reckless’ or overly ambitious when it comes to going forward because they are more than capable of picking us off, so he knows the shape has to be right.

‘If we get that right I believe we have a good chance of winning.’

Having said he expects he knows how they will play, he went on to say.

‘They still have the same gameplan, if you like. We know what they are all about, we know a lot about their personnel and we know the manager well. They have good players and good threats from wide areas. We know what their main threats are and we know it is going to be a very tough game. We believe in ourselves and we know we have players who will cause them problems at the other end of the pitch.’

As for our own form, he knows that with four of the six being away from home, he feels we can take a lot of positives from Blackburn especially but long term he’s not worried, although clearly he wants some home league improvements.

‘We have lost two out of the four but it is unusual for us to lose home games. We don`t want to lose home games. I absolutely know we will win home games. If we can carry on playing the way we are away from home and picking up points and can marry that up with home performances and results we will be fine.’
