On loan matchwinner Shaun Miller has said he’d desperately hoping to build on his Shrewsbury debut against Bradford City in tonight’s match against Carlisle which is currently under way.

Having joined us from Sheffield United until the end of the campaign, he came off the bench to make his debut and scored the all important winner in injury time to give us all three points.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of kick off, he explained.

‘It was a great feeling to get the winner in the last minute and, most importantly, the three points. I literally came in for the game to be on the bench and it was a bonus to get on. To get the winner topped off a good day.’

The 26 year old has made his starting debut tonight, but only met his new team mates in the dressing room ahead of our last game, so hopefully he’ll be more comfortable now having got to know them a bit.

He did have a helping hand as he did previously know Danny Coyne and Dave McAllister so they would’ve no doubt helped him settle in anyway.

Not a bad way to introduce yourself though, scoring the winner!

There’s a new name on the bench tonight as well, young midfielder Niall Flint has travelled with the squad for the very first time.

The first year scholar has been in impressive form for our youth and reserve sides and manager Mike Jackson has decided to give the 16 year old a taste of life on the road with the first team.

He has been handed the No 33 shirt for the remainder of the season, and having trained with the first team in recent times, you’d be surprised to see him make his debut unless the game really swings in our favour, but it’ll be a fantastic experience for him nontheless.
