Shrewsbury are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Abu Ogogo in Shrewsbury’s two-nil win at Greenhous Meadow against Bury on Saturday was enough to earn a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Ogogo was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the Football League blurb read.

‘Ogogo was influential in Shrewsbury’s 2-0 win over Bury on Saturday, assisting one goal and scoring another.

‘The 25-year-old played in Sulley Kaikai for the opener, and added a second from long distance to help the Shrews to an important three points in Sky Bet League 1.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Ogogo for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points against a very good Bury team.

Full Team – Tom Heaton (Burnley), Andrew Robertson (Hull City), Carl McHugh (Plymouth Argyle), Hayden White (Blackpool), Fernando Forestieri (Sheffield Wednesday), George Thorne (Derby County), Abu Ogogo (Shrewsbury Town), Darren Ambrose (Colchester United), Zak Ansah (Newport County), Moussa Dembele (Fulham), Aiden O’Brien (Millwall).

Manager – Martin Allen (Barnet)
