Shrewsbury have recalled right-back Dean Holden from his loan spell at League Two rivals Rotherham United.

The defender had impressed Millers manager Ronnie Moore who extended his loan spell by a further month after an inital month with the club.

The 30-year-old made seven appearances at the Don Valley Stadium helping the Millers up to third in League Two.

Holden only made the bench for the last eight games for Rotherham and manager Graham Turner thought it would be best if he could sit on our bench instead.

‘Dean has been a model professional throughout his stay with Rotherham United,’ Rotherham’s chief operating officer Paul Douglas told the club’s website.

‘Dean arrived at a time when we had one or two injuries and filled in admirably when required. We wish him well for the rest of the season.’

Whether or not he can oust David raven from his position is another question.
