After Tuesday’s defeat to Torquay, Town will be hoping to bounce back against a Torquay side whose early season form has slipped away. The Gulls have not won in six games.

Paul Buckle’s knees may have buckled when his board told him the playing budget will be cut too.

Vital Quotes:

Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire: ‘While we’re disappointed to have picked up only one point in the last two games, we put in a couple of reasonable performances and confidence is high.

‘A lot of the stuff we did at Wycombe and Port Vale was in keeping with the way we’ve played this season, so there’s no need to panic.

‘We work hard and we have players who can score, so we’re not entirely dissatisfied with the way things are going at the moment.’

Buckle on the budget cuts told BBC Radio Devon: ‘The budget has been cut, quite considerably, because of financial restraints the club has off the field.

‘It is disappointing and it does change things at this moment in time in that I can’t add to the squad.’

After the defeat to Vale, Town skipper Ian Sharps decalred there was nothing to fear: “We have got nothing to be scared of. It is going to be a hard season and there are a lot of good teams in the division.

“Port Vale are one of the best, they will fancy their chances and we will fancy ours. The ball bounced a few times for them and not for us.

“I think we deserved a draw and maybe we didn`t get the rub of the green. I thought we matched them but they scored from 25 yards so fair play to them.”

Shrewsbury Town Team News:

Tom Bradshaw (knee) and Shane Cansdell-Sherriff (leg) to be declared fit.

Sean McAllister is doubtful with a hamstring injury, while Kris Bright (Achilles) will definitely not feature.

Player to watch: Tom Bradshaw

If Bradshaw comes on as a second half substitute, he will be hoping to hit the back of the net and declare his stand for a starting position.

Torquay United Team News:

Torquay defender Mark Ellis has recovered from a foot injury and could be included in the squad.

Midfielder Damon Lathrope is out after injuring his ankle during his debut in the 1-0 win at Torquay in midweek.

Player to watch: Chris Zebroski

Zebroski is Torquay’s top marksman so far this season with four league goals.

the 23-year-old forward started his career as a youth player at Swindon Town before joining Plymouth.

He later turned out for Millwall 25 times and then made a number of loan moves to Torquay, Oxford United and Wycombe.

He may have found his home in Devon now after a second loan spell at the club last season.
