Ahead of the game against Colchester United tonight, manager Mike Jackson has added Wolverhampton Wanderers right back Dominic Iorfa to our ranks.

The highly rated youngster has progressed through their youth ranks and been capped by England at U18 level previously. Jackson explained that with Jermaine Grandison still building up his fitness, bringing in cover will allow Ryan Woods to move to his favoured midfield position instead of filling in so it should give us more balance.

He has joined us initially for a month and speaking to the Official Site Jackson explained.

‘We need something in that area as cover for Jermaine, it also frees up Woodsy to play in midfield which is his best position and gives us something. Wolves speak highly of him, he is well regarded there and I’ve only heard good things about him, he’s very quick, 6ft 2in and gets forward well.’

Jackson admits that the player is pretty ‘raw’ but that’s an age and experience thing, and generally raw players thrive on adrenaline and always give you something different as they haven’t picked up any professional bad habits so they can often be fresh and unexpected.

He should be in contention for what I believe will be his Football League debut tonight, but going off Jacko’s words he won’t be thrust into things he is simply cover for Grandison should it be needed.
